CRC PETTS Clubmans Report and tables /

What I like about the Petts and the Clubmans, not forgetting the Spoco series, is that they are points based rather than time. No matter how fast you were in previous weeks it all comes down to the points you score each of your best 8 (10) events over the whole season. This is why, that in tonights horrendous conditions, the fastest rider in the Petts clubs HAD to turn up to challenge our Dave. On the other hand, Dave HAD to turn up in the hope that his rival would not turn up. In our Junior competition , Olly turned up and shone (yes, he wore sun glasses) while Swifty didnt ride and the result is now that they are neck and neck. But lets have some sympathy for Dave; a couple of weeks ago he seemed unbeatable on points but now he finds that both Robby and Mick Smith are breathing down his neck . Others , Duncan and Claire among them, were obliged to face tonights elements just to give themselves a chance to complete their ten events and challenge for category victories. And yes, I admit it, I turned up tonight to secure my category lead in both competitions. In both the Petts and the Clubmans its still all to play for. Is it me or have we just introduced an element of excitement into time trialling?????? Ollie and his sun glasses were the news of the night, somewhat overshadowing his personal best on what must have been the worst night of the series!!!!!!! How did he do it? No, not the PB but seeing where he was going with the shades on ??????
