Hi Folks! - The good news is that I'm confident of tomorrow's ride going ahead ok, having just motored round the entire course with only two short stretches of little-used lanes abandoned in favour of main road options. I hope this will ensure a good turnout after the recent weather, even if you only use the ride to get you to Broughton/Chipping if you don't feel confident about a 60+ mile ride. Missing out Goosenargh to Longridge via Ashley Lane because of 'tyre track' rutted ice and Brockholes to Dinckley for same reason plus freshly-cut hedges! Otherwise, roads clear but extreme with main roads drying out and some lanes awash, with new potholes so I will expect plenty of shouting and pointing? Wyre to Chipping (11's) is 23 miles with Ribchester a further 17, then 20-something back to the Wyre for a total of approx. 63-65 miles (100km+ hint, hint Mick!). So, see you in the morning with warm clothing, overshoes and full mudguards (with mudflaps back & front) for the first 2010 outing. Cheers everyone....off out for a buffet Chinese tonight to bulk up and stave off the bonk! Pres. Peter |
